The journey from Grenoble Airport to Méribel
From the airport, the route runs west of the Alps and gradually joins the main roads towards Savoie. After the Isère département, the drive carries on to Albertville, where the road enters the Tarentaise valley.
From Albertville onwards, the N90 takes you up to Moûtiers.
That gives the trip a different feel from a Chambéry departure: the opening stretch is longer, yet once Albertville is behind you the way to Méribel is very straightforward.
Moûtiers is where you leave the Tarentaise main road and start climbing into the Méribel valley.
How the road ends depends on your lodging: Méribel Village is the first stop, lower down, Méribel Centre means more climbing, and Méribel-Mottaret is the highest, adding a few extra kilometres.
This route does not use the Belleville valley that serves Les Menuires and Val Thorens. It follows Méribel's own valley, which leads into the central part of the 3 Valleys.
In winter, traffic heading for Albertville and Moûtiers can lengthen the journey, particularly on Saturday changeover days.

Méribel stretches along an entire mountain valley and is not a single compact village centre.
Your accommodation could be in Méribel Village, Méribel Centre, Morel, near the Rond-Point, by the Altiport, at the Belvédère or up at Méribel-Mottaret, and the exact spot decides the final leg of the transfer.
