This gives the Lyon Airport to Méribel route a very different profile from transfers to Les Menuires or Val Thorens. After Moûtiers, the journey continues into Méribel’s own valley rather than the Belleville valley.
During winter, the Albertville–Moûtiers section can become heavily congested on Saturday changeover days. Snowfall can also slow the final mountain approach to the resort.
Arriving in Méribel
Méribel is spread across several resort areas and elevations.
Depending on where you are staying, you may be dropped in Méribel Village, Méribel Centre, Morel, around the Rond-Point, at the Altiport, in the Belvédère area or in Méribel-Mottaret.
Because these areas are located at different heights in the valley, the final distance and driving time vary slightly depending on your accommodation. A journey to Méribel Village is shorter than a transfer continuing higher to Méribel-Mottaret.
